Mediclinic now offers eligible patients a complimentary follow-up chat with their doctor after a physical consultation at selected Mediclinic clinics.
When your doctor confirms that a follow-up is appropriate, a secure chat will be made available through the Mediclinic app for up to 7 days after your clinic visit.
This service allows you to ask relevant follow-up questions about your recent consultation without needing to return to the clinic unless clinically required.
What the service supports
Your complimentary follow-up chat may be used for questions related to your recent physical consultation, including:
Clarification of your treatment plan or medical advice provided during your appointment.
Secure and convenient follow-up care.
Review of symptoms related to the concern discussed during your visit.
Questions about investigations, results or next steps, where applicable.

Who can use this service?
The complimentary follow-up chat is available to eligible patients who:
- Have attended a physical consultation with a participating Mediclinic doctor
- Have been advised by their doctor or clinic team that a chat follow-up is appropriate
- Access the chat within 7 days of their physical visit
- Use the service for questions related to the original consultation
How the programme works?
Attend your clinic consultation
Visit your participating Mediclinic doctor for your scheduled physical appointment.
Your doctor confirms follow-up is appropriate
If your doctor believes a chat follow-up may support your care, the clinic team will provide information on how to access the service.
Access your follow-up chat
A complimentary follow-up chat will be made available through the Mediclinic app for up to 7 days after your visit. The benefit is redeemable once as a virtual chat consultation and may be upgraded to a video consultation, where appropriate.
Open the Mediclinic app and access your active chat consultation to send your follow-up question.
Receive clinical guidance
Submit your enquiry through our Dedicated Support LineYour doctor will review and respond to your follow-up question through the secure chat function.
Where further assessment is required, you may be advised to attend an in-person consultation, book a video consultation or seek urgent medical care, depending on your clinical needs.
Important information:
- The virtual follow-up chat is valid for up to 7 days following your eligible physical consultation
- The chat is intended only for follow-up questions related to your original clinic visit
- The service is not intended for new symptoms, new medical concerns, prescription requests unrelated to your consultation or ongoing routine care
- The chat is not an emergency service and should not be used for urgent or life-threatening symptoms
- If you experience severe pain, difficulty breathing, chest pain, sudden weakness, heavy bleeding, loss of consciousness or any other urgent medical concern, please seek immediate emergency care
- Your doctor may recommend an additional consultation or further investigations where clinically required
- If the chat is not used within the 7-day period, access will expire
