The Department of Pulmonary Medicine at Mediclinic City Hospital is equipped to deal with all types of breathing problems (acute and chronic) such as:

  • Chest radiograph
  • CT scan of chest (64 slice CT scanner)
  • Pulmonary function test - sSpirometry
  • Polysomnography for diagnosis of sleep related breathing disorders
  • Chest ultrasound

Procedures

  • Tube thoracostomy for pleural effusion and pneumothorax
  • Needle thorocentesis for pleural effusion
  • Ultrasound guided needle thorocentesis/tube thorocostomy
  • Pleural biopsy
  • Bronchoscopy: the department is equipped with a broncho videoscope for diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopies (foreign body removal)
  • Testing for allergies
