Your data deserves the same care as your health.

Your medical record contains personal details about your identity, health, finances and care. It is more than a set of files; it reflects your health and wellbeing. Mediclinic treats this information with the same care as your treatment itself, and we ask you to do the same when you share it with us.

Every day, patients exchange information to book appointments, request reports or follow up on results. These exchanges are essential, but they must be done safely. Once personal data is shared in an unsecured way, it cannot be withdrawn. A message sent through the wrong channel may reach unintended recipients and expose your private details.

What counts as sensitive data

Sensitive data is any information that could identify you or reveal private details about your health or finances. It includes:

  • Medical reports and test results
  • Insurance and billing information
  • Emirates ID, passport copy or other identity documents
  • Contact details such as your phone number, address or email
  • Login credentials for any patient portals or online services

Keeping these details secure helps protect your health and your digital identity.

How Mediclinic keeps your information safe

Mediclinic will never send your medical reports or results through WhatsApp or social media. These platforms are not private or secure and may allow unauthorised access. All communication containing personal or medical data takes place through trusted, encrypted systems:

  • The Mediclinic App
  • The Mediclinic Patient Portal
  • Password-protected attachments sent only to your verified email

When registering or updating your details at Mediclinic, please ensure that your mobile number and email address are accurate. This ensures that your health records reach you, and only you.

How to share safely

You play an important part in protecting your information. Before sharing any personal or medical data, pause to check the channel and the recipient.

Do:

  • Use only official Mediclinic digital platforms or verified email addresses ending in @mediclinic.ae
  • Confirm that you are communicating with authorised staff before sharing any attachments or personal data
  • Keep your login credentials private and never share passwords

You may engage with the official Mediclinic WhatsApp channel (blue tick verified) for general queries and appointment confirmations only.

Do not:

  • Post or discuss your medical information on social media
  • Share your child’s medical details publicly
  • Share medical reports or personal data through WhatsApp, even on verified channels
  • Share screenshots of your results or reports online

If you are unsure, contact us before sharing any information. Our teams will help you verify that you are using the correct and secure channel.

Why this matters?

When you are unwell, you are physically vulnerable. If your health data is shared carelessly, you can become digitally vulnerable too. Once private information is made public, it can be copied, analysed or used in ways you cannot control. Protecting your data means protecting your peace of mind.
