Testing Services for Etihad Customers

Travellers flying with Etihad Airways can now take a Covid-19 test in their homes as part of a partnership with Mediclinic.

Travellers leaving the UAE do not currently need to take a Covid-19 test before flying out of the country, but several destinations around the world now require travellers to have negative Covid-19 test results before they fly.

These rules vary by destination so travellers should check country requirements before booking a flight, and plan to take a test if required.

All passengers flying to any Etihad destination from Abu Dhabi International Airport can make use of the new at-home testing service. Travellers may also take advantage of a discounted rate on Covid-19 testing at any Mediclinic facility.

How to book an Etihad Covid-19 test

After booking a flight with Etihad, travellers should contact Mediclinic to book an at-home testing appointment.

Note that many destinations will require the test to be conducted at a specific time before you travel. We recommend that your appointment takes place a minimum of 48 hours prior to travel.

You can complete your PCR test at one of the Mediclinic facilities in the UAE or arrange a home visit. You will receive your test result in a minimum of 24 hours from the time the swab reaches the laboratory.

Bookings can be made by submitting the form at this link, calling Etihad: 800 2022 and by email at etihad@mediclinic.ae.

  • Negative result: You’re ready to travel. Print your test result and proceed to check-in for your flight. Our check-in agent at Abu Dhabi Airport will review your negative result before completing check-in.
  • Positive result: You are unable to travel and will need to rearrange your flight for a future date. The Department of Health will be informed and you will be required to follow strict quarantine guidelines in the UAE.
