The Department of Ophthalmology at Mediclinic Parkview Hospital provides a comprehensive inter-disciplinary team approach in the investigation, treatment and rehabilitation tertiary and advanced eye care services. These include complex retinal surgeries and management, paediatric ocular disorder, strabismus surgeries and correction, management of corneal disorders, management of standard and complex cataract surgeries, oculoplastic, orbital and ocular oncology services, and diabetic and other retinal vascular disorders, and management of glaucoma.

The department has a multispecialty approach with each subspecialty of ophthalmology including vitreoretinal services, cataract services, anterior segment and corneal services, paediatric ophthalmology services, Glaucoma services and oculoplastic, orbit and oncology as well as neuro-ophthalmology services. The department also works in collaboration with the Endocrinology department for management of endocrine disorders affecting the eye, the Paediatric department for management of paediatric eye disorders and syndromes, the Rheumatology department for management of non-infectious uveitis secondary to autoimmune disorders and the Neurology/Neurosurgery department for neuro-ophthalmic disorders and neurovascular disorders.
