The two biggest barriers for women not maintaining a healthy lifestyle are ‘lack of time’ and ‘health not being a priority’. Women’s Health Week is the time to do something for your health and start making positive changes that can last a lifetime.

Here are our top women’s health tips:

  1. Avoid common medicine mistakes
When used incorrectly, medicines can cause more harm than good. Make sure to consult with your doctor before taking supplements and medicines that are said to promote women’s health.
  2. Manage your health conditions
Similarly, it is important not to ignore signs and symptoms of a health problem. There are many health concerns women can face throughout life, it is important to catch them early.
  3. Get screened
Health screenings are an important step in recognising any health problems. Whilst not always comfortable, screenings can help to catch and health risks before signs and symptoms even begin to show.
  4. Be active and eat well
It may seem obvious, but a common barrier women face is not having enough time to remain active and plan healthy meals. Take some time out on the weekends to go for a brisk walk or jog and plan your weekly meals to ensure you’re eating a balanced diet.
