A paediatric rheumatologist evaluates and treats a variety of joint, muscle and bone disorders in children, including arthritis, autoimmune disorders such as lupus and juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, and inflammatory disorders of the muscle, eye, or other organs.

The speciality also includes the evaluation of prolonged fever, investigation of unexplained chronic musculoskeletal pain, weakness, poor appetite, fatigue, loss of function or skills, rashes anaemia, weight loss or joint swelling.
