Early detection saves lives.
Colorectal cancer is one of the most common and preventable forms of cancer. The Faecal Immunochemical Test (FIT) is a quick and easy way to detect hidden blood in your stool, an early sign of potential colorectal issues, including cancer.
What is FIT screening?
The Faecal Immunochemical Test is a non-invasive screening method that checks for blood in the stool – this could be an early indicator of colorectal cancer or other gastrointestinal problems that need specialist attention. All that is needed to complete a FIT screening is a self-use kit and five minutes of your time.
Over 40? Speak to your doctor about FIT screening.
If you are visiting your Family Medicine doctor, ask about colorectal cancer screening. A complimentary FIT kit will be provided to patients aged 40 and above as part of the consultation. It is specially designed to help you stay proactive in managing risk of colorectal cancer.
Alternatively, you can book our Colorectal Screening Package. It covers a discounted Family Medicine consultation and a complimentary FIT screening kit for AED 175.
Available in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain until 30 April 2026.
Who should get screened?
Mediclinic recommends FIT screening for:
- Adults aged 40 and older
- Those at average risk who have not had a colonoscopy in the last 10 years
If you are unsure whether FIT screening is right for you, speak with your doctor. They can assess your risk and recommend the best screening approach.
Colonoscopy remains the gold standard for colorectal cancer screening.
